| Through our associations with various historic sites, we have done living history ranging from 1812-1920. Recent activities include: Danville Civil War Days, Danville, Illinois Bryant Cottage State Historic Site, Bement, Illinois Historic Mann's Chapel in Rossville for Drivin' The Dixie Days Looking for Lincoln History Tour in Danville, Illinois Some highlights: Chief of historical interpretation at Presidio La Bahia in Goliad. Started sites' living history programs (assisted by Mike Boyd) including those for the Texas Sesquicentennial in 1985-1986. Served as brigade adjutant for the 1st Confederate Infantry Brigade during the 130th Civil War anniversary events. Coordinated living history program for the Texas 150th program at the San Jacinto Battlefield for Texas Parks and Wildlife in 1986, as well as the living history at the Texas Statehood Sesquicentennial Celebration at the Texas State Capitol in 1995. Coordinated living history program for Resaca de la Palma Battlefield, Brownsville, Texas, in 1986 and 1988, and the living history program for Palo Alto Battlefield National Park in Brownsville in 2002 Mexican army commander and member of event staff for Alamo 162, Bracketville,Texas 1998. Part of coordination team for Fort Towson 1836 Living History Event, 1999 Landmark Inn State Historic Park, Castroville, Texas, managed the sites' living history program and special events, including Sesquicentennial of General Wool's Encampment and establishment of the San Antonio-El Paso Road. Landmark Inn is an 1849 Texas Parks and Wildlife state historic site. Site manager for Buffalo Gap Historic Village, Buffalo Gap, Texas. |
